Our Services
All Services
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE | Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We employ trained animal behaviorists who help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client. |
BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS | Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics. |
BLOOD TRANSFUSION | We maintain a supply of blood for dogs in case of emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease. |
BOARDING | Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our trained kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We have many different accomodations available for your pets. Please feel free to call our Glen Carbon or Greenville locations for details. |
BRONCHOSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination of your pet’s respiratory system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the nasal cavity, trachea and lungs. |
CANCER TREATMENT/CHEMOTHERAPY Chemotherapy is a process in which an animal is given medications, usually intravenously, that are intended to kill the out-of-control, rapidly reproducing cancer cells, without damaging the slower-dividing healthy cells. The good news is, animals often respond to chemotherapy better than humans. They usually don't have the severe side effects like nausea and hair loss that people can experience.
One of the most important things to know is that you and your pet aren't fighting the cancer alone. A lot of people will contribute to the process of treating your pet, from your veterinarian and your veterinary technicians to your own friends and family. You may also work with specialists, like pathologists--who test and diagnose cancer cells--veterinary surgeons, veterinary internists, and veterinary cancer specialists. It's important that all the different team members communicate with and trust one another, so they can be an effective, unified group working together to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. |
DENTAL CARE | Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, caps and braces. |
EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE | In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is backed up by our mobile resuscitation unit, stocked and equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. |
ENDOSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery. |
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY | We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. |
HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES | Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client. |
IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE | We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. |
INTERNAL MEDICINE | We cover all areas of internal medicine, including but not limited to: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; and Endocrinology |
LABORATORY TESTING Bloodwork and other lab tests can be a useful tool in not only diagnosing diseases or health concerns, but they also serve a great purpose in preventative care. Many times diseases or illnesses can be caught before any physical signs appear. This allows for the veterinarians to start a treatment plan as soon as possible, before signs appear or grow worse. |
LAPAROSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permit direct visual examination of your pet’s abdominal cavity without the need for a large surgical incision. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of various abdominal diseases and disorders. |
LASERS | Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain; less bleeding and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort. |
MICROCHIPPING | Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. |
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING | Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. |
PAIN MANAGEMENT | Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. |
RADIOLOGY | Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. |
SPECIAL INTERESTS | Sometimes conditions arise that require veterinarians with specialized training. Our staff includes veterinarians with special interests in cardiology, dermatology and oncology. |
SPECIALIZED SURGERY | Our veterinary surgeons include specialists able to perform eye surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical procedures. |
SURGERY | We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing. |
ULTRASOUND | This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. |
